Kiko Milano Cosmetics Haul and Review

7:14 PM

Hi all and thanks for stopping bye!!! So I've been hearing about Kiko Milano for awhile, but never took the plunge to get some items. Kiko had a free shipping deal and $5 off your first purchase over Black Friday. So, I decided to give the Mat Velvet - Satin Lipstick in 602 Natural Rose a shot. Well I fell in love from the formula to the packaging and knew I wanted to try more!! A few weeks ago I got sent an email of a sale they were having (it's still currently going on HERE). So, I decided to grab a few more items to try out.

 Kiko Products

This part you might want to skip, but I though I would talk a little bit about the company. Kiko Milano is an Italian professional cosmetics brand that was founded in 1997 by the Percassi Group. They are very popular in European countries, such as, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, UK, Austria, & Switzerland. They have been becoming more popular in the United States because they have been opening up stores in the U.S. The first store was opened in 2014 in New Jersey and now they have over 20 locations in NY, NV, CA, NJ, FL, MD & PA. You can also purchase their products on the Kiko US site HERE.

Kiko offers everything from makeup to skincare to brushes, nail polish and more! Their price point is a bit higher then typical drug store, but its still very affordable (even more so with their sales). Their brushes are on par with the likes of Morphe, Zoeva, Real Techniques Bold Metal, etc. Price wise they lean higher like Physicians Formula. Since drug store prices are getting a bit out of control now they are not too different. Kiko does makes up for it in packaging though! Their packaging is very sturdy, well made and is nicer then some of my mid-high end products.

OK, onto the products. Unfortunately, some of these are out of stock and I will annotate them. I still wanted to speak to the overall quality of the brand. I think I might snag a few more items while the sale is going on!! Onto swatches and info. So, here we go folks!!!

Mat Velvet - Satin Lipstick in 602 Natural Rose (previously mentioned) $9 ( 3.5g/.12oz)  Price comparison NYX Matte Lipstick $5.99 (.16oz) & Revlon Matte Lipstick $7.99 (.15oz). It comes in 12 shades and is enriched with plant extract K-2 Repulp. Its a beautiful dusty rose color that glides on smooth. The finish is a nice satin matte and its not transfer proof (it doesn't claim to be) but it stays on better than a typical lipstick. It has a faint vanilla scent, but nothing you can smell once on the lips. I really love this formula and highly recommend it! Now about this packaging! Its in a stunning gold tube that you press the button on top to slide it out of place. It really is beautiful and even has KIKO embossed in it!

Luscious Cream - Creamy Lipstick in 500 Shell Rose $9/$3.90 on sale (3.5g/.12oz).  Price comparisons NYX Butter Lipstick $5.99 (.16oz) & Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick $7.99 (.15oz). It is available in 6 shades and has the K-2 Repulp as well. This color is a tad to light for me, but still pretty. It transfers like any typical lipstick and has the same slight vanilla smell like the Mat Velvet. Again, its a really nice formula and the packaging is the same as the Mat, but the tube is silver instead with some slight holographic look.

Kiko Luscious Creme in 500 & Kiko Mat Velvet in 602

Cream Radiance Highlighter in 01 Twilight Gold* $12/$5.90 on sale (.4g/.13oz). I can't find anything exactly comparable at the drug store since most highlighters are coming in palettes. In addition, its out of stock, but its a very pretty highlight. It has no glitter just a nice vibrant shimmer. No discernible scent and wears like any high end cream highlight. The packaging while very different and pretty isn't very practical for storage.

Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 34 Pearly Quartz Rose $12/$5.90 on sale (1.64g/.05oz). 16 shades still on sale/16 regular price. Price Comparisons Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick $4.49 (.11oz) Milani Shadow Eyes 12 HR Eyeshadow Pencil $6.49 (.1oz). Now I understand the drug store comparisons are significantly cheaper, but this wears like my Tarte shadow sticks and does not budge! They are twist up which I love and glide on very smooth. After my swatches it didn't want to come off and lasted all day on my eyes. If you like shadow sticks run right now and snag some of these!

Metallic Shine Eyeshadow in 06 Dynamic Taupe $14/$6.90 on sale (24g/.85oz) **I'm not sure what is stated on the website is correct because that's a lot of product** 6 shades. Price comparisons Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow $6.99 (.14oz) L'oreal Infallible Shadow Butterfly Collection $7.99 (.12oz)  These are creamy and apply beautifully and last all day, but I can't say they are any better than the beloved Color Tattoos. They are worth it on sale, but the color selection is very limited. I do love the detail on the packaging though.

Soft Touch Blush in 106 in Beige Rose $12/$3.90 on sale (5g/.18oz). In 11 shades. price comparison NYX HD Blush $6.99 (.16oz) L'oreal True Match Super Bendable Blush (.21oz) $12.99 Ah again, the packaging! These feel close to a NARS blush with a rubber type feeling. The blush is very pigmented, blends out beautifully, and has great lasting power. I love the color I picked!

Overall, are these super cheap products, no. I do have to say though if you are looking to not spend mid-high end prices, but want the feel and quality of a more luxurious product Kiko is going to be for you! I am definitely going to take advantage of this sale and snag a few more items. When you can get these on sale its beyond a steal of a deal! I still would pay full price for some, like the Mat Velvet lipsticks. You really are getting mid-range quality and packaging (sometimes better packaging) for a high drug store price. I'm really excited I took the plunge and explored Kiko.

Shipping is free for orders over $25 and you can use the promo code: WELCOMEKIKO for $5 off a $20 purchase!! So, if you have been thinking of trying Kiko I urge you to take the plunge!!

Thanks so much again for visiting and please leave a comment!! Are you going to try any Kiko products??
